Turn a column into a card and duplicate it

Give a column a background, corners and spacing to make a card, copy it next to itself and delete a column you no longer need.

Select a column and give it a background, rounded corners and spacing to make a card. Product cards, price boxes and side-by-side offers are built this way.

Select a column

There are four ways: click an empty part of the column in the email, select a block and click the dashed Select column button right after the drag handle on its toolbar, click a line such as Column 1 in the Layers panel, or use the Columns buttons in the row's panel. The selected column shows a Column badge at the top and a blue outline. The panel on the left shows the column's settings: width in per cent, Vertical alignment, Column box, Inner spacing, Duplicate column and Delete column.

Turn the column into a card

  1. Under Column box, pick a background colour and a corner radius

The column becomes a box with its own background.
  2. Under Inner spacing, enter a vertical and a horizontal value

The content moves away from the edges of the card: the vertical value goes above the first block and below the last, the horizontal value on both sides of every block. Number fields show their limit, for example Up to 80 px.
  3. Enter an outer spacing

The card keeps its distance from the edges of the row and from the next card. The gap between cards is set by Column gap in the row's panel.

The sent email looks the same as the canvas. On phones the columns stack, and each card keeps its background and spacing.

Duplicate the card

Click Duplicate column. MailGraf copies the column's box, spacing and every block in it right next to the original. A row holds up to 4 columns; the widths are shared equally.

Example: for three product cards, build one card, duplicate it twice and change the product name, price and button link in each copy. If an empty column is left over, select it and click Delete column.

Delete a column

Delete column removes the column with its blocks; the last column in a row cannot be deleted. Undo reverses both a duplicate and a delete.

The Delete key also removes the selected column, as long as your last click was on the email. After typing in a panel field it does nothing; click Delete column or use the bin icon in Layers instead.

Frequently asked questions

How many columns can a row have?

Up to 4. When a duplicated column is added, the widths are shared equally across all the columns.

Why can't I delete the last column?

A row keeps at least one column. To remove the whole row, select the row and click Delete on its toolbar.

What happens to the cards on phones?

When the columns stack on mobile, each card sits under the previous one with its own background and spacing. The sent email looks the same as the canvas.
