Create your first list

A list is a group of contacts you build once and target in campaigns and automations. Membership stays the same until you change it. Most accounts start with a single list, for example Newsletter, and add everyone who agreed to hear from them.

Create the list

1. Open Contacts > Lists and click New list

   On an empty account the same button also sits inside the No lists yet card.

2. Enter a name and click Save

   Pick a name you will recognise in a campaign, such as Newsletter. The list appears in the table with no contacts yet.

Add people to the list

Open the list and use one of three routes:

• Add contact adds one person. Enter Email, First name and Last name, leave Status on Active, tick I confirm I have permission to email these contacts and click Add contact.
• List actions > Import contacts opens the three-step import wizard, Upload, Mapping and Permission, with this list already chosen as the target. Drop in a CSV file, match its columns to MailGraf fields, confirm permission and click Start import.
• The Add contact button on Contacts opens a page with four tabs: Single contact, Copy & paste, From CSV file and From another list. Paste a block of text and MailGraf picks out the email addresses for you.

What the list page shows

The Contacts tab lists the members and the Imports tab keeps every import that targeted this list. List health splits the list into Sendable, Blocked and Inactive and shows the sendable share. Growth tracks the last 30 days, and Engagement mix sorts people from Hot to New. Connect a signup form adds people to this list automatically when they submit a form or landing page. When you are ready to send, List actions > Use in a campaign takes you straight from the list to a campaign.
