Create and use an email template
Save an email design as a template, then reuse it in a new or existing campaign.
Save a design as a template when you expect to use it again. A template can start a new campaign or replace the design in an existing draft.
Save the template
Open a campaign in the email editor
Templates begin with a campaign design, whether it is finished or still in progress.Click Save as template
You will find this action in the editor's top bar.Enter a Template name
Use a short name that will make the design easy to recognise later.Click Save
MailGraf adds an independent copy of the design to Email templates.
Further changes to the campaign do not update the saved template.
Apply the template
Open Email templates, then click the preview for the design you want. The preview gives you two choices:
- Create campaign starts a new draft named after the template.
- Use in a draft applies the design to a draft campaign you select.
If the draft already contains a design, MailGraf opens Replace design? first. Confirming replaces the current design with a copy of the template.
Manage your templates
Search templates by name or sort them by their last update. Open a template's menu to Rename, Duplicate or Delete it.
Independent copies
Renaming or deleting a template does not change campaigns that have already used it.
Frequently asked questions
Do template changes update earlier campaigns?
No. A campaign receives its own copy of the template. Later template changes do not alter that campaign.
Can I apply a template to a draft that already has a design?
Yes. MailGraf warns that the current design will be replaced and asks you to confirm first.
Will deleting a template break campaigns that use it?
No. Campaigns created from the template keep their own design copy.
