Slicing splits one image into parts and lets you give each part its own link. For example, in a menu strip image each heading goes to its own page.
Slice the image

The left panel switches to the image's Content tab.Click Slice image
The image opens in a window with rulers along the top and the left.Add the cut lines
For a horizontal line, drag down from the top ruler. For a vertical line, drag right from the left ruler. For equal parts, pick a number under Rows and Columns.Click a slice and type its link

To delete a line, double-click it or drag it back onto the ruler. To change the slices later, click Edit in the panel.
Split a slice again
To cut one slice into smaller parts, click that slice and click Split this slice. Only that slice opens in the window; add your new lines. To go back, click Whole image.
Line limit
You can add up to 10 lines in each direction per cut. If you need more parts, split a slice again.
Frequently asked questions
Does a sliced image look broken in the email?
No. The parts sit side by side and one above the other with no gaps; the recipient sees a single image.
What happens if I give a part no link?
That part uses the image's own link. If the image has no link either, nothing happens when the part is clicked.
Can I undo slicing later?
Yes. Open the slicing window and click Back to a single image. The image becomes one piece again.
