Add a video block
Put your video's cover in the email; when the recipient clicks it, the video opens on its own page.
Video cannot play inside an email. A video block shows the video's cover image with a play icon on top. When the recipient clicks the cover, the video opens on its own page.
Add the block
In the editor, click the Content icon on the left
Drag the Video block from the More group onto the email and drop it.Paste the video's address into Video link
For YouTube, Vimeo and Loom links, the cover image and the title are fetched for you.Choose the cover under Cover
To use the video's own cover, leave Video cover selected. For another image, choose My own image, then click Upload or Media library.Check the alt text
Alt text is filled in from the video's title. It is read when the recipient's email app does not show images.Set the play icon on the Style tab
Under Play icon, choose Shape, Colour and Size. On the same tab you also set the cover's width, alignment and corner radius.
The play icon is added onto the cover at send time and goes out as a single image. That is why the icon looks the same in every email app.
Corners in Outlook
Outlook desktop does not show rounded corners. The cover appears square there; the link still works.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the video not play inside the email?
Email apps do not support video playback. So the cover image is shown, and whoever clicks it watches the video on its own page.
Which platforms give me the cover automatically?
YouTube, Vimeo and Loom. A link from another platform works too; you only need to upload the cover yourself.
Can I replace the cover with my own image?
Yes. Under Cover, choose My own image and upload the image.
